Review: Fall of Atlantis 2.0
Battle Greek mythological creatures for control of Atlantis.
Fall of Atlantis 2.0 is a classic platform game, similar to many Nintendo Titles. It includes the basics such as jumping over obstacles, or to jump up on platforms, to pick up bonus items, such as health. Don’t pass up on the health, you may need it.
You are Atlas, and have returned to Atlantis only to find out that one of the Gods intends to destroy Atlantis. You job, should you choose to accept it, is to prevent that from happening.
This is a side scroller game; you move left to right, jump over obstacles, pick up bonus items and you can activate and play puzzles. Jumping is a big part of the game, as noted before. You will need to jump over daggers coming out of the ground. Another way around this is when you solve puzzles, which you do often. Solving Puzzles neutralizes traps, opens gates and defeats mythological creatures.
There are 2 main modes, Story Mode and Puzzle Mode. Completing chapters opens up more puzzles for puzzle mode. You have directional controls, as well as jumping and puzzle related buttons. Puzzles come in various shapes, but usually are color coded. Stack or hit any 3 pieces of the same color and they disappear. This is not as easy as it sounds.
The game uses OpenFeint so you have achievements, and also unlockables, such as being able to play the soundtrack, one chapter at a time.
Overall Score: This gets 4 out of 5
Pros: It’s a side scroller game with a retro feel.
Cons: Some platforms are small so they are hard to land on. This is part of the challenge of playing the game, but it can get frustrating.
