iPhone SSH Help!


How to: Connect your iPhone or iPod Touch to your PC.

Easy steps:

Click Icon to download Winscp to your PC and install it.



Download OpenSSH to your iPhone or iPod Touch via Cydia

NOTE: Make sure your iPhone and PC are connected to the same Wireless Router.

Open Winscp on your pc and enter the following on your screen.

  1. Host Name: Enter your iPhone’s IP address
  2. User name: root
  3. Password: alpine
  4. press login

You can find your iPhone or iPod Touch’s IP address under Settings>Wi-Fi>Choose a Network>IP address.If your password is different from the one above, please enter it in the same spot.

After you have succesfully logg in,These are the first folders you are going see.

Double Click the first folder with the arrow pointing up and go to stash.

Then double click the themes folder to change or add themes to your iPhone or iPod Touch.

And that’s all folks, You have sucessfully SSH to your iPhone or iPod Touch.

  1. I’m still trying to ssh my theme from codethemed website. For some odd reason the theme isn’t there. What else am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help.

  2. What?? I got to the part where you click the >…folder and then clicked the themes folder. I couldn’t find the themes folder, so I dragged it into the >…folder. Now what? Is that all? How do I get it onto my iPod? Anything else?

    Can ya make a video tutorial or something? o.O

  3. i downloaded my theme from code themed. i got everthing done and i have the theme on my ipod but when i select the theme, it refreshes but its no theme

  4. yes i am using winterboard and no i SSH to my ipod touch 2nd gen. and there is only a .zip file…unless im looking in the wrong spot but i dont think i am

  5. I followed all the steps and got the theme on my ipod touch. however when i selected the theme and respring my ipod, i got a theme with a black background, when there is supposed to be a photo. can help me on this one?

    • look inside the unzip file and make sure the backgrounds names are correctly named. for Lockscreen the name should be (LockBackground) and for home screen it should be (Wallpaper).

      Note: Do not use the parenthesis

  6. I really don’t understand.Why everybody is so excited about Iphone? Why ipad is better that a Samsung for example?. Those mobile phones are more ,more cheapper and they have a lot of extra features. On the Iphone is just nice. People don’t buy them just because they are a trend ask yourself if is useful and is the right price. But in this period is all about comercials…

But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two images. Maybe you could space it out better?
